Infectious Disease Specialists of Atlanta, P.C. provides infectious disease consultation, infusion therapy, wound care, FDA-approved research protocols, and travel medicine consultation to the metro Atlanta community. Each of our five physicians is board-certified in both infectious diseases and internal medicine. Our office is conveniently located on the campus of DeKalb Medical in Decatur, Georgia, and we are also affiliated at DeKalb Medical at Decatur, DeKalb Medical at Hillandale and Rockdale Medical Center. We offer infusion therapy through our Office Infusion Center and travel medicine care through Safe Passage Travel Medicine, P.C.
Infectious Disease Specialists
Infectious disease (ID) specialists are board-certified physicians who have completed sub-specialty training in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses caused by microorganisms. ID specialists treat acute and chronic infections. They also act as medical detectives and are often called in to evaluate and oversee challenging cases where an illness is difficult to diagnose, is accompanied by a high fever or has not responded to treatment. ID specialists also see healthy people who plan to travel to foreign countries or locations where infection risk may be high. In these cases, ID specialists determine whether immunizations or other preventative measures are necessary to protect travelers from disease.
